Welcome

Alloway Guest House is a Victorian property built circa 1890 overlooking Pilrig Park.  We are conveniently situated for both Edinburgh city centre and the historic Port of Leith.  Both of these areas are within walking distance and we are also on the bus route. There is ample parking at the front of the guest house. The house is built on three floors and was originally the Free Church Manse. The house retains many of its original features including fireplace and wood panelling in the dining room as also an ornate cornice and ceiling rose.

On the half landing leading to the first floor there is a beautiful stained glass window with pictures of Robert Burns and Sir Walter Scott.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne!

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint stowp!
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.                                                                                                                        written by Robert Burns
